• Bella Peisach Zalkin

    Inspirartion

Alisha’s grandmother, a Holocaust Survivor, had a deep love and passion for the arts and community. Bella was the youngest person to be admitted to the Vienna School of Music as an opera singer, but lost the opportunity due to the rise of Hitler. While she was not able to study music, she continued to sing and perform in Ecuador and eventually in Los Angeles, CA. One of her signature shows was through the organization Hadassah, a women’s Zionist movement, where she gathered musicians and storytellers to share their talent in Yiddish in order to preserve and celebrate a culture that had been taken away from so many. Her passion and love of the arts is what inspired The Bella Arts Foundation.
